Foothills Plein Air Festival 2024

Father & Son Artists

Richard & Jason Clewell

My dad and I (Jason) have been in the creative field our whole lives. We both explored our artistic side through drawing and painting and pursued careers in graphic design. In 2022, I attended a plein air festival at a winery nearby. This was the first time I saw people painting outdoors in nature. I knew immediately this was something I wanted to do. I asked Dad about it; he had painted en plein air in his youth. I already had a French easel and we put together some supplies and went out. It has been the thing that has reignited our love for painting and has been a great way to spend time together. We both now paint en plein air and in the studio. This website shows our work for sale. Thanks for taking a look! – Jason
